Etching: Step 6
The plate is covered with a hard wax ground. The main lines
of the composition are drawn into the ground and then etched in the acid.
The plate is cleaned and a soft wax ground is applied.
The texture sheet is placed face down on top of the plate and passed through the printing press. This causes the wax to be lifted from the plate where it is in contact with the hessian, etc., when it is peeled off.
