Monoprinting: Step 2

The image is 'painted' in reverse onto the steel plate using card, rollers, rags, brushes, turps, etc. A watercolour sketch and line drawing are used for reference. Tissue or other thin paper can be incorporated into the process to create texture. This is known as 'chine collée'.
