Susan Dobson; moor and mountain landscapes

In September 2011 Susan made a second drawing trip to Kumaon in the Indian Himalaya, in search of views of Nanda Devi. Berghaus provided Susan with kit to keep her warm, dry and comfortable while at work, and she sent back updates from her adventures. Read her blog about her Nanda Devi adventure here at Berghaus »
The first trip was in February 2011 to the Annapurna Sanctuary in the Nepal Himalaya. You can find Susan's blog from that trip here at Berghaus »

Susan’s striking and atmospheric images draw you into moor and mountain landscapes, evoking memories of ever changing weather and light and familiar feelings of place.
"It just reminds me of being there – the weather, knowing how it feels, what a long slog it will be walking through the wet, but how wonderful it will be when you get up there." Dave Bishop, studio visitor and climber.
Susan's feelings of place are also reflected in the popular images she makes of her local area – Hadrian's Wall snakes across the empty landscape, moors and fields march away to the vast horizons, always under moody skies.
As well as original work, Susan produces high quality giclée prints and greetings cards of a selection of her images.
With Susan's images, you will recapture those feelings of being in the high fells and mountains of northern Britain and beyond!
