Photo-etching: step-by-step

Photo-etchings are made by covering a copper plate with a light sensitive film. This is exposed to a photographic image and the resulting plate is inked up and then wiped off like a traditional etching plate.

In this way I can create the moody atmosphere typical of my Hadrian's Wall series whilst retaining photographic accuracy.
